I visited the M. V. Nesterov Museum in Ufa, and I had mixed feelings. On the one hand, I was impressed by the rare and beautiful works that are rarely seen at Moscow venues. On the other hand, the condition of the building of the modern part of the museum left me with the feeling that I got into the most inexpensive office of the beginning of the two thousandth. The walls were finished with facade plaster, the ceiling was grillato, bad light that does not emphasize the paintings, but removes their magic. I could just relax and enjoy the paintings, but the museum is located in the regional center, where there are many modern and expensive buildings, and is actively being renovated and expanded. This dissonance causes me concern and questions.
At the moment, in honor of the 450th anniversary of Ufa, the exhibition “From Academicism to Impressionism. Landscape and portrait of the second half of the XIX — early XX century from the collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery”. The exhibition presents paintings by great Russian artists — A. K. Savrasov, V. G. Perov, I. E. Repin, I. I. Shishkin, V. D. Polenov, V. A. Serov, K. A. Korovin, I. I. Levitan, I. E. Grabar, M. F. Larionov, N. S. Goncharova, V. V. Kandinsky and many others. And, of course, paintings by artists who worked on the land of Bashkortostan — M. V. Nesterov and D. D. Burliuk. I am posting photos of works that have been interesting to me since childhood and that I finally saw in this museum. They are beautiful, although small and little known to the general public.
